Man United Given 2 Weeks to Activate £44m Release Clause in Striker — Arsenal Enters the Race!
Man United Eyeing Moise Kean with a Two-Week Deadline to Activate £44m Release Clause, as Arsenal Shows Interest
Manchester United reportedly has a tight two-week window to decide whether to activate the £44 million release clause of Moise Kean, the former Everton striker, who is on their transfer shortlist. Kean, currently playing for Fiorentina, has attracted attention from the Red Devils as they seek a reliable No 9 after recent struggles with Rasmus Hojlund.
Kean’s Premier League stint at Everton was underwhelming, scoring only four goals in 39 appearances from 2019 to 2022, and he faced criticism for his attitude and adaptation. Since then, he has revived his career with spells at PSG and Juventus. Last season, he scored 19 goals and provided three assists for Fiorentina, helping the team qualify for European competition.
The Italian forward has a release clause set at £44 million, which can only be triggered during the first two weeks of July, according to reports. Besides Manchester United, Kean has also garnered interest from Saudi club Al Qadsiah, although it is unclear whether he would consider a move to the Middle East.
Manchester United is actively searching for a new striker, especially after Hojlund’s inconsistent start. Other targets included Victor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon, who prefers a move to Arsenal, and Liam Delap, who has opted for Chelsea instead.
Kean’s initial Premier League experience with Everton failed to meet expectations, highlighting challenges in adapting to English football. Despite past setbacks, his recent form in Italy has showcased his goal-scoring ability, making him an appealing option for United’s attacking line.
