Paul Pogba Tears Up as Former Man United Star Retires After 18 Months Doping Ban Nightmare!
Paul Pogba Signs with Monaco After Doping Suspension
Paul Pogba has officially returned to professional football by signing with Monaco, after completing his doping ban. The French midfielder, who last played competitively in September 2023, was visibly emotional upon signing the contract, breaking down in tears and expressing gratitude with a simple “Thank you for the trust.”
Pogba’s suspension, initially four years for doping violations, was reduced to 18 months last October. With the ban now served, he and his previous club, Juventus, mutually parted ways earlier this year. The 32-year-old has committed to a two-year contract with Monaco, keeping him at the club until mid-2027.
His move to Monaco is seen as a fresh start, with hopes of reviving his club career and earning a spot in the French national team for the 2026 World Cup. Pogba last appeared for France during a friendly against South Africa in March 2022.
During his time away from the game, rumors linked him with several clubs, including Marseille, Manchester City, Corinthians, and a potential return to Manchester United, in addition to MLS teams. However, he chose Monaco, a club that finished third in Ligue 1 last season behind Marseille and PSG.
Throughout his career, Pogba has played for top clubs like Manchester United and Juventus, winning the 2018 World Cup with France. Despite numerous appearances for Les Bleus, he has never played in France’s top league.
In a moment captured after signing, Pogba was seen with his head in his hands, wiping away tears while supported by friends. He expressed his gratitude briefly, saying, “Thank you for the trust,” and concluded his announcement with “La renaissance,” signaling a new chapter in Monaco.
