Shocking! Disgraced Ex-Rep. George Santos Backs Controversial NYC Mayor Candidate—You Won’t Believe Why!

George Santos Urges Republican Support for NYC Mayor Eric Adams

Convicted ex-Long Island Rep. George Santos has publicly called on Republicans to support NYC Mayor Eric Adams’ bid for re-election, despite Santos’s own legal issues. In social media posts this week, Santos begged GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa to withdraw from the race and urged fellow Republicans to unite behind Adams, whom he believes is best positioned to defeat socialist Queens Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani in November.

Santos stated, “New Yorkers are at a crossroads, and the stakes couldn’t be higher,” referring to the recent Democratic primary where ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo conceded to Mamdani. Santos emphasized that “Eric Adams is the only viable path forward” and urged Republicans, conservatives, and common-sense voters to accept that Sliwa cannot win.

Despite Santos’s advocacy, Sliwa dismissed the notion of dropping out, asserting he remains committed to his campaign and called Santos a “fraudster” lacking credibility. Adams’s campaign spokesperson, Todd Shapiro, responded by dismissing Santos’s support, highlighting that Adams aims to build a “broad, credible coalition rooted in integrity and results,” dismissing Santos’s influence as a distraction.

Sliwa has affirmed he will remain in the mayoral race despite Santos’s endorsements.

Santos, who is set to begin a seven-year prison sentence next month after pleading guilty to fraud and identity theft, continues to make headlines. He even suggested Adams appoint Sliwa as Deputy Mayor of Public Safety to foster a coalition aimed at saving NYC.
