Arsenal to Pay Approximately €70 Million for Top Striker Target Benjamin Sesko

Arsenal is preparing to secure the services of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig for an estimated fee of around €70 million (£60 million) this summer. The Slovenian international has attracted interest due to his impressive performances, scoring 21 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions last season.

Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s manager, is eager to bring Sesko to the club after his standout season, which reinforced his reputation as a rising star. Despite his contract at Leipzig lasting until 2029, Sesko is eager to move on, with several European clubs and Saudi side Al-Hilal also interested, though he prefers to remain in Europe.

Leipzig initially aimed for a transfer fee ranging from €80 million to €100 million, but according to reports, they have now accepted that a €70 million base fee, plus potential add-ons, is a more realistic target for potential suitors.

While negotiations are still in early stages, Sesko’s actions suggest a possible interest in the Gunners—he followed Arsenal on Instagram, which, although not definitive proof, indicates a potential inclination toward the club.

Meanwhile, Arsenal’s sporting director, Andrea Berta, favors Viktor Gyökeres, considering him a proven performer, with an asking price of approximately £65 million. Gyökeres had an excellent season with Sporting, netting 53 goals and providing 13 assists in 52 games, prompting the Gunners to consider him as an alternative target if their primary plans do not materialize.

Despite his interest, there are uncertainties surrounding Gyökeres’ ability to replicate his goal-scoring success in the Premier League. Arsenal remains hopeful of making several signings to bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
