Brentford Rejects £62.5m Man United Bid for Bryan Mbeumo, Star Sends Clear Message – Spurs Beware!

Brentford Rejects Second Manchester United Bid for Bryan Mbeumo

Manchester United’s recent bid of up to £62.5 million for Bryan Mbeumo has been turned down by Brentford. Despite the rejection, the winger has made it clear to his club that his preferred destination is Old Trafford this summer.

Mbeumo, who scored 20 goals in the Premier League last season, remains a key target for United as they seek to strengthen their attack. Their initial offer of £55 million was already declined, amid interest from other clubs including Arsenal, Newcastle United, and Tottenham, the latter managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank.

The player has informed both Brentford and new Tottenham manager Thomas Frank that he only wishes to move to United, signaling his resolve in pursuing a transfer to Manchester. Although Tottenham attempted to convince him otherwise, Mbeumo has firmly stated his preference.

Brentford hopes to retain the winger for the start of pre-season, with players scheduled to return from July 7. United’s interest is driven by their need to improve their goal-scoring, having netted only 44 times last season—the second-lowest tally among non-relegated teams since the Premier League’s rebranding in 1992.

Since joining Brentford in 2019 for £5.8 million, Mbeumo has scored 70 goals in 242 appearances, including 42 in 136 Premier League matches, establishing himself as one of the division’s most dangerous attackers. He is seen as a crucial addition for United’s front line, where goals have been in short supply.

Although Mbeumo’s contract expires next year, Brentford holds an option to extend it by 12 months. Should the transfer go through, he would become United’s second signing of the summer, following the £62.5 million acquisition of Matheus Cunha.

The player’s agent has reportedly negotiated a deal that could see him earn around £250,000 per week at United, a figure likely higher than what Tottenham is prepared to offer. Despite interest from multiple clubs, Mbeumo remains committed to making the move to Manchester.
