Luka Modric Nears Move to AC Milan on One-Year Deal

Legendary Croatian midfielder Luka Modric is set to join AC Milan, with club director Igli Tare confirming the imminent transfer. After a distinguished 12-year career at Real Madrid, Modric is close to leaving the Spanish giants for Italy’s Serie A.

Modric, who turns 40 this September, remains determined to continue playing at a high level, especially as he aims to participate in next year’s World Cup in the United States. Currently, he is playing on a short-term extension with Real Madrid for the Club World Cup. However, his focus is on securing regular game time with AC Milan.

Tare expressed the club’s enthusiasm about signing Modric, stating, “We are ready to bring in Luka Modrić; we need new leaders.” He added, “Modric can be a key figure for us. He’s eager to compete and win titles, and we are working on that.”

Modric, renowned for his leadership and skill, has won multiple titles with Real Madrid, including six Champions League trophies and four La Liga titles. His experience and professionalism are seen as vital assets for AC Milan as they aim for success in upcoming seasons.

Reportedly, he will sign a one-year contract with an option for a second, earning £57,000 weekly plus bonuses. His arrival is seen as a significant boost for Milan, especially with the World Cup coming next year, where he hopes to shine once again.
