Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko Possible Departure as Clubs Circle

Oleksandr Zinchenko’s tenure at Arsenal may be coming to an end this summer, with several clubs expressing interest in acquiring the versatile defender. Since joining the Gunners for £32 million in 2022, Zinchenko played a pivotal role during his debut season, contributing significantly to their title challenge. However, his influence has waned in recent campaigns due to increased competition and injury setbacks.

Last season, Zinchenko struggled for regular playing time, making only five league appearances amidst Arsenal’s personnel reshuffle. Notably, he lost his starting spot to players like Jurrien Timber, Takehiro Tomiyasu, and Myles Lewis-Skelly, with Riccardo Calafiori also competing at left-back.

Despite this, the 27-year-old remains highly regarded, attracting interest from clubs including Fulham, which reportedly aims to sign him for around £10 million—well below his estimated value of £12.7 million. Fulham are eager to utilize his experience in both defense and midfield, hoping to bolster their squad for the upcoming season. Other potential suitors include Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan, but Zinchenko is reportedly inclined to remain in London.

The Ukrainian international is understood to be willing to accept a reduced salary, around £3 million per year, down from his current earnings at Arsenal. With limited first-team opportunities and Arsenal’s transfer plans underway—focused on adding attackers like Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyökeres, and midfielder Martin Zubimendi—the club is considering player sales to fund these acquisitions.
