US Condemns Iran as Rubio Warns of Serious Consequences

Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the recent US attack on Iran was a response to Iran’s attempt to provoke President Trump, emphasizing that any retaliation from Iran would be a grave mistake. He explained that the operation was conducted swiftly and with precision, with US military forces executing the strike and departing without resistance.

Rubio highlighted that Iran’s actions were a deliberate move to manipulate diplomatic negotiations. Two months prior, the US had issued a letter to Iran, offering 60 days for negotiations on its nuclear program. He criticized Iran’s reliance on diplomacy as a cover for delaying tactics and assured that under President Trump, such tactics would no longer succeed.

Rubio described Iran as entirely vulnerable, asserting that Iran lacks control over its airspace and cannot protect its leaders. He warned that any Iranian retaliation, such as attacking US bases or closing strategic waterways, would be a grave error and bring severe consequences.

He urged China to advise Iran against closing the Straits of Hormuz, a critical route for global oil supplies, noting that such an act would be economic suicide for Iran. Rubio also conveyed that Iran is in a fragile state, with its leadership unable to defend its own airspace, making any aggressive move a costly mistake.

Despite condemnation from some Middle Eastern nations, Rubio claims that privately, they agree the strike was necessary. He also called on European nations to consider sanctions against Tehran to discourage further nuclear ambitions.
