US Strikes Iranian Nuclear Facilities in Surprise Attack

In a sudden and unexpected move, the United States launched airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites on June 21, 2025. The attack was carried out with the deployment of six B-2 stealth bombers, capable of delivering heavy bunker-buster bombs designed to destroy underground facilities. The timing of the strikes appeared carefully planned, as the bombers had left Missouri early Saturday and were estimated to reach Iran late that night.

President Donald Trump announced the operation shortly after returning from a trip to his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey. Interestingly, he took no questions from reporters during his return. The President confirmed that the attack targeted facilities in Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan, with all aircraft safely departing Iranian airspace afterward.

Images show the targeted sites, including a satellite image of Iran’s Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant and the Isfahan nuclear facility, both of which were struck during the operation. The attack marks a significant escalation in tensions over Iran’s nuclear activities.

Earlier, Trump had indicated a possible delay in action, suggesting he would decide within two weeks whether to pursue military strikes, citing ongoing negotiations with Iran. The sudden offensive, therefore, caught many by surprise, especially since Israel lacked the aircraft capable of dropping such heavy bombs and had been using smaller 2,000-pound bombs in recent days.

President Trump celebrated the operation, stating, “We have completed our very successful attack on the three nuclear sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran airspace. A full payload of bombs was dropped on Fordow, and all aircraft are safely en route home. Congratulations to our armed forces. There is no other military in the world that could have achieved this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE.”
