Lukas Gage Reflects on His Brief Marriage and Personal Past

Actor Lukas Gage has opened up about the emotional complexities surrounding his rapid marriage to celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton, which lasted only a few months. Reflecting on the experience, Gage shared that he feels a mix of humor, humility, and a touch of sadness when looking back at that time.

In an interview, he recounted marrying Appleton in a flashy Las Vegas ceremony, officiated by Kim Kardashian, with singer Shania Twain performing as they walked down the aisle. The event was even featured on a television episode, capturing the whirlwind nature of their union after just two months of dating.

However, by November 2023, Appleton filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. Gage described the wedding as “funny and insane,” highlighting the surreal experience of being serenaded by Twain and officiated by Kardashian, which he recalls as “a statement.”

Gage also shared personal struggles from that period, revealing he was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and believes he was misprescribed medication. This, he says, led him to a phase where he didn’t recognize himself.

He discussed his experiences in his memoir, I Wrote This for Attention, which delves into his chaotic childhood, drug use, and mental health challenges. Writing the book provided him with a sense of liberation, and he hopes it offers both entertainment and a message of compassion to readers, especially during challenging times.
