Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s Son Olin Was the Last to Arrive

Ryan Reynolds revealed that having their son Olin was a major shift for their family dynamic. During an appearance on “Late Night With Seth Meyers,” he joked that if Olin had been born first, he probably wouldn’t have decided to have four children.

The couple welcomed Olin in 2023, joining their three older daughters — James (10), Inez (9), and Betty (6). Reynolds described the experience of adjusting to their youngest as unexpectedly “jarring,” contrasting it with his girls, who he says are “just so easy.”

He humorously said he might have opted for a “punching vasectomy” before having three boys initially, implying he would have avoided that scenario entirely. When questioned if their kids see Olin as “an HR issue,” Reynolds admitted, “I do,” jokingly comparing himself to competing with his young son for attention.

Reynolds also shared that their home has become a “chaos” zone since Olin arrived, describing it as “violent” and “creepy.” His wife, Blake Lively, previously characterized their household as “chaos” and humorously compared her daughter Betty to historical and modern icons, noting her strong personality.

Lively, who prefers to keep her children out of the spotlight, spoke affectionately about Olin in a previous interview, describing him as “romantic,” and said he frequently exclaims, “Mama, my love!” when she enters the room.

She also reflected on her own style, saying she gets dressed as if she’s still in middle school, hoping her children will notice her outfit. Throughout this busy year, Lively considers her children her “lifeline,” providing support amid her legal battles with a former co-star, which she has publicly accused of harassment.
