The actor David Del Rio has been removed from the upcoming season of the CBS legal drama “Matlock” following accusations that he sexually assaulted actress Leah Lewis. The incident reportedly occurred on September 26.
According to reports, Del Rio was “fired and escorted off the set on October 2,” the same day the allegations surfaced. His role as Billy Martinez is being written out of the show’s second season, which is on hiatus until November after completing filming of its first half.
Lewis, who plays Sarah Franklin, responded publicly by sharing a positive social media post with her followers, writing, “Mom is here, we’re moving forward in love and strength. I’m in good hands.” She also expressed gratitude for support and emphasized resilience, stating, “We’re moving forward in strength. Let that be the takeaway.” Subsequently, she has not made further public comments.
Meanwhile, Del Rio’s representatives have not issued any statements. The actor has not publicly addressed the allegations.
