Many voiced their hope that he would be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, with chants like “Nobel Prize to Trump” echoing across the crowds.

Footage captured celebrations in Tel Aviv and Gaza, where crowds waved flags and danced in relief, believing that the two-year conflict might finally be over. In Gaza, residents cheered, “Donald Trump! Donald Trump,” as news of the ceasefire spread.

The crowd in Tel Aviv cheered “Retweet if you believe Donald Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize,” a message shared by his son, Eric Trump, on X (formerly Twitter), which garnered over 19,000 retweets and 1.5 million views. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick also expressed support, stating that Trump “should undoubtedly receive” the award.

Recently, families of hostages held in Gaza appealed to the Nobel Committee, urging them to recognize Trump’s efforts in brokering the peace deal. The families welcomed the news that the remaining captives were expected to be released soon, by Monday, as part of the agreement.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in July, praising his efforts in the Middle East, including facilitating the ceasefire and reducing tensions around Iran’s nuclear activities. The White House has highlighted Trump’s role in ending seven conflicts worldwide, including those involving Israel, Iran, Rwanda, and Kosovo.
