Man United Wonderkid, 18, Called Up to England Training with Future Star Potential

Manchester United Young Star Called Up to England Senior Training

Manchester United’s promising young player, Shea Lacey, has been invited to train with the England senior national team, showcasing his rising potential. The 18-year-old winger and attacking midfielder caught the attention of coach Thomas Tuchel after impressive performances with Manchester United’s under-21s, including scoring twice against Crystal Palace U21s.

Lacey, who has previously been compared to Phil Foden, recently participated in training sessions with Ruben Amorim’s first team. His positive displays have led to increasing calls for him to be included in first-team matchday squads, especially after a standout performance where scouts from various clubs left early once he was substituted off.

Overcoming injury setbacks in recent years, Lacey has shown resilience and development, playing his first full 90 minutes since October 2023 last week. His talent has caught the eye of first-team players and coaching staff, prompting discussions about his future prospects. Although he has only represented England at the under-17 level, his progress is rapid, with his first call-up to the under-20s team this month indicating his accelerating rise.

Other young players, Lakyle Samuel and Harrison Murray-Campbell, also took part in the training session, highlighting the emphasis on nurturing future stars. Samuel, a Manchester City defender on loan at Bromley, and Murray-Campbell, a Chelsea defender, are still early in their careers but gaining valuable experience.

England’s national team is preparing for upcoming qualifiers, including a friendly against Wales and a match in Latvia, which could secure their World Cup qualification depending on results.
