Palestine Cult Demands More Violence, Rejects Ceasefire
Cease-Fire Demands Fall Silent Amid Anniversary of Gaza Attacks
The movement advocating for Palestine has shifted its stance now that a cease-fire appears possible. Instead of calling for peace, supporters marked the two-year anniversary of the Hamas terror attack on Israel by urging continued resistance and commemorating “martyrs.”
Some groups praised Hamas leaders, like Yahya Sinwar, urging people in Gaza to follow his lead by refusing peace and continuing the conflict. This stance embodies a call to escalate violence rather than seek resolution.
From around the world, pro-Palestine protests echoed these sentiments, celebrating the Hamas assault, which left over 1,200 Israelis dead and 251 taken hostage. Notably, some groups celebrated Hamas’ attack by name, claiming it disrupted Israeli dominance and asserting a commitment to ongoing struggle.
One prominent supporter, a student group at Columbia University, expressed admiration for Hamas’s leader and urged others to follow his example, effectively advocating for continued conflict and sacrifice.
Despite claims of Israel committing genocide, critics argue this is a gross exaggeration. Israel’s military operations have aimed to minimize civilian casualties, with casualties far below typical urban warfare standards. The notion of genocide is seen as a falsehood, especially since victims are often held hostage and could potentially end violence through surrender.
Some activists and politicians, like Zohran Mamdani, have described the conflict as a “genocidal war,” but fail to acknowledge ongoing peace negotiations aimed at ending hostilities. Mamdani also advocates for ending what he calls occupation and apartheid—terms frequently used to delegitimize Israel, although Israel remains a diverse society with equal rights for its Arab citizens, who enjoy a higher standard of living than in many Arab countries.
It is evident that the “Free Palestine” movement often disregards the well-being of Gaza’s residents. Many activists appear more driven by revolutionary goals than genuine concern for Palestinian lives, showing little regard for innocent casualties on either side.
