Kristi Noem Slams Zach Bryan’s Anti-ICE Song
Zach Bryan Faces Criticism from Homeland Security Secretary Over Controversial Song
Country singer Zach Bryan has come under fire after releasing a song that criticizes immigration enforcement efforts. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem expressed her disappointment after hearing a preview of Bryan’s track, titled “Bad News,” which was shared publicly on October 3.
Noem called the song “disrespectful” to law enforcement and the country, especially since Bryan claimed it reflects his patriotism. She emphasized that the song’s message was divisive and unfortunate, highlighting that it attacks individuals working to keep communities safe.
Noem further criticized Bryan for releasing the song amidst ongoing immigration enforcement actions, which included arrests of illegal immigrants, some of whom were accused of severe crimes. She stated she had never been a fan of Bryan’s music before, and now chooses to avoid supporting him financially.
In contrast, Bryan defended his work, asserting it is about expressing love for the country and uniting people across political divides. He explained that his song reflects his personal views and a desire for Americans to find common ground, emphasizing that he is not aligned with any political side.
Bryan added that he is proud of his military service and wishes to promote unity rather than division. Despite the backlash, he reiterated his love for the country and called for Americans to come together, acknowledging the challenges and misunderstandings that often accompany free speech.
