Child Dies After Rottweilers Attack During Daycare Incident

A tragic incident occurred when a two-year-old boy was fatally mauled by Rottweilers in a backyard, where he was under the supervision of an unlicensed daycare provider. The caregiver, a woman identified as Stacy Wheeler Cobb, was reportedly taking a nap at the time.

The child, identified as Kaimir Jones, was found dead in Cobb’s yard around 3:45 p.m. Investigations revealed that Kaimir had slipped out of the house unexpectedly and had accidentally unlocked the kennel housing the Rottweilers, who then attacked him.

Authorities stated that Cobb’s daycare, which was operating without a license, often held up to 10 children at a time. On the day of the incident, Kaimir was the only child present. Cobb told officials she believed the child was safe while she napped for a little over two hours.

Following the event, Cobb was charged with second-degree murder and cruelty to children. The department expressed deep sympathy for the family, emphasizing that the tragedy could have been prevented and calling it a result of gross negligence.

The Rottweilers involved, as well as a third dog found at Cobb’s residence, were confiscated and taken to animal control for further assessment.

Kaimir’s mother, Adrianna Jones, shared her heartbreak and noted that her intuition led her to leave work early to check on her son after long periods of radio silence from Cobb. She described the scene as devastating and traumatizing, stating that she found her son already deceased.
