Family Updates on Truck Driver Injured in Incident with Mark Sanchez

The family of PT, a 69-year-old truck driver involved in a scuffle with former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez outside an Indianapolis bar, reports that PT is doing okay following the altercation.

Family members shared that PT is recovering and emphasized, “He’s OK.” The driver was hospitalized with serious injuries after being attacked and stabbed in self-defense. Photos from the hospital show PT in a neck brace, with deep cuts on his face and jaw, indicating the severity of his injuries.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight when PT was parked to collect cooking oil from a nearby hotel. According to an affidavit, Sanchez, visibly intoxicated and slurring his speech, approached PT—who had his hearing aids out due to noise from his truck—and became aggressive. Sanchez reportedly slammed PT against a wall and threw him to the ground, prompting PT to stab Sanchez in self-defense as the former Jets player allegedly assaulted him physically.

Sanchez, who was hospitalized with stab wounds to his chest, was released after receiving treatment. He was then moved to Marion County Jail, where he faces charges of public intoxication and battery. He posted a $300 cash bond and told authorities he had no memory of the incident.
