Ike Turner Jr., Son of Tina and Ike Turner, Passes Away at 67

Ike Turner Jr. (pictured here with his father, Ike Turner) has died at the age of 67.

The family has confirmed the passing of Ike Turner Jr., the son of legendary musicians Tina Turner and Ike Turner. He died at the age of 67.

Jacqueline Bullock, Tina’s niece, shared a statement expressing her grief: “It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of my cousin, Ike Turner Jr. He was more than a cousin—he was like a brother, having grown up together in the same well-known household.”

She recounted his early musical pursuits, noting his initial interest in drums, which was eventually replaced by a focus on keyboards, partly influenced by his mother Tina Turner. Ike Jr. also played a significant role in managing Bolic Sound Studios, the recording facility established by his father.

Throughout his life, Ike Jr. faced numerous challenges but achieved recognition as a talented sound engineer and musician. Notably, he won a Grammy for Best Traditional Blues Album in 2007 for his work on his father’s album, “Risin’ With The Blues.”

The family has expressed gratitude for the condolences received and requested privacy during this difficult time.
