Bad Bunny Fires Back at Super Bowl Halftime Critics on ‘SNL’
Bad Bunny Responds to Criticism Over Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show
The Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny has addressed the backlash he received for being chosen to headline the Super Bowl 2026 halftime show. During a monologue on Saturday Night Live, he confidently announced, “You might not know this, but I’m doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show. And I’m very happy about it. Even Fox News!”
He shared his excitement, emphasizing that the victory was not only personal but also a celebration of the contributions of Latinos and Latinas in the U.S., stating in Spanish that their efforts have helped open doors for others. He concluded his monologue with some humor: “And, if you didn’t understand what I just said, you have four months to learn!”
Fox News hosts were shown jokingly praising Bad Bunny, claiming he should be the next president, which the singer found amusing. He also teased that his Spanish phrases are worth four months of study, referencing his frequent criticisms of the U.S. government and immigration policies, specifically the Trump administration and ICE.
Earlier, Bad Bunny announced he would be the headliner for the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show scheduled for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in California.
The artist’s selection sparked controversy, including criticism from former racing driver Danica Patrick, who questioned whether performers without songs in English should be allowed to headline such a major event. Patrick responded to a fan tweet suggesting Bad Bunny’s political views, particularly his opposition to Trump and ICE, should disqualify him from performing at the Super Bowl.
