FA investigates Leeds over Tottenham players targeted with dangerous objects
FA Investigates Leeds United Following Incidents During Tottenham Match
The Football Association (FA) has launched an inquiry into Leeds United after two Tottenham Hotspur players were targeted with dangerous objects during their 2-1 victory at Elland Road.
Pedro Porro was struck by a vape device thrown from the crowd while waiting to take a corner, and footage showed another bottle flying past Mohammed Kudus’s face as he celebrated his goal, which was his first since joining Tottenham this summer.
The FA confirmed that both incidents are under review. Leeds United could face a substantial fine if found responsible for failing to control their supporters.
Pedro Porro displayed the vape device to the referee after the incident. Porro later humorously posted on Instagram that he didn’t feel like vaping that day, preferring to focus on securing three points.
The situation with Kudus was more serious, as the projectile narrowly missed hitting him while he celebrated. The incident occurred as he sat on a stool near the pitch side used by ball kids and photographers.
Manager Thomas Frank praised Kudus’s perseverance, commenting, “I’m pleased for Mo to finally score, and it’s great to see him perform well after setbacks. His attitude and training have been impressive.”
