Kayla Nicole Avoids Comparing Herself Amid Taylor Swift’s ‘Diss’ Track

Kayla Nicole Responds to Taylor Swift’s New Song

Travis Kelce’s former girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, seemingly addressed a recent diss in Taylor Swift’s new track. The song, which Swift has confirmed is about Kelce, includes lyrics that appear to target Nicole, specifically lines like “And you were just a pose” and references to being absorbed in her phone during their relationship.

Shortly after the song’s release, Nicole reposted a clip from an episode of “America’s Next Top Model” featuring Eva Marcille. The scene shows Tyra Banks asking, “How do you compare yourself to the other girls out there?” to which Marcille confidently replies, “I don’t compare myself to other girls. I’m Eva. I’m no comparison to anyone else.” Nicole captioned her repost with a meme: “And when God gives you ball, BALL,” implying strength and confidence.

Nicole shared images from a dinner she attended in Los Angeles, dressed glamorously in a silk brown dress, celebrating “visibility, sisterhood, and storytelling,” as she wrote. She also posted a meme saying, “She shared a meme that reads, ‘And when God give you ball, BALL,’ as well,” emphasizing her boldness.

Swift’s song “Opalite,” which she describes as mainly about Kelce, includes the lyric: “You couldn’t understand it, why you felt alone / You were in it for real, she was in her phone / And you were just a pose,” which appears to reference Nicole. Kelce had previously been publicly called out for being annoyed when Nicole was distracted by her phone, leading her to respond that she wouldn’t seek validation online if Kelce paid more attention to her.

Nicole’s on-and-off romance with Kelce began in 2017, after a series of flirty interactions on Instagram, culminating in her sliding into his DMs on New Year’s Eve. The couple dated until 2022. Critics suggest Nicole’s references and social media posts might be her response to the ongoing public attention following her breakup with Kelce and Swift’s rise as their relationship’s new focus.

Since the song’s release, Nicole has dismissed speculation, stating, “Life handed me lemons and I made a lemon martini out of it and that upsets people.”
