TSA’s No-Fly Lists Target Non-Maskers: A Hidden Form of Tyranny Under Biden
Use of No-Fly Lists to Punish Americans Under Biden Sparks Concerns
During President Biden’s tenure, the use of no-fly lists expanded beyond their traditional anti-terrorism purpose, increasingly targeting ordinary citizens for non-criminal reasons. Despite the pandemic’s winding down, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) initiated “Operation Freedom to Breathe” in September 2021, penalizing individuals who resisted mask mandates. Over 19 Americans reportedly found themselves on watchlists for simply opposing COVID restrictions, with many on no-fly lists, affecting their ability to travel.
Further controversies arose when individuals involved in the January 6 protests were targeted based on questionable intelligence. The TSA added around 280 people to watchlists, including five on no-fly lists, some of whom were not even present at the Capitol during the riot, such as a National Guardsman deployed to escort Biden at his inauguration. Internal warnings from TSA officials highlighted that citizens were being unfairly punished for their political beliefs without any legal charges, raising alarm over civil liberties infringements.
Traditionally, no-fly lists are reserved for suspects linked to terrorism, given the severe disruption they cause. Yet, during Biden’s administration, even minor infractions like protesting restrictions often led to airport delays and increased surveillance. Air marshals were reportedly diverted to monitor individuals on these expanded watchlists, even after they left airports, exacerbating concerns about government overreach.
The broader pattern of misuse extends beyond TSA actions. Agencies like the FBI reportedly pressured social media platforms to censor content and targeted political opponents, such as Republicans and critics of the administration. This pattern of leveraging federal power to silence dissent has been largely overlooked by mainstream media, which has often ignored these issues due to political biases.
While partisan weaponization of government agencies exists across the spectrum, critics argue that Democrats, in particular, have facilitated a systematic erosion of civil liberties and due process, highlighting the urgent need for accountability and reform.
