Taylor Swift Knew She Wanted to Marry Travis Kelce & Dropped the Hints
Taylor Swift Reveals Her Longstanding Intent to Marry Travis Kelce
Within just six months of starting their relationship, Taylor Swift made it clear she wanted to marry Travis Kelce, frequently dropping hints along the way.
In her first public comments since Kelce proposed in mid-August, Swift shared that she had shown him engagement ring inspiration around 18 months earlier. The couple, both 35, began dating during summer 2023 and made their relationship official in September at one of his football games.
During her appearance on “Heart Breakfast,” Swift revealed she had shown Kelce a video of a jewelry designer, Kindred Lubeck, whose handmade gold engravings she found “so cool.” She explained she first shared this with him roughly a year and a half ago, hinting at her desire for a ring with meaningful craftsmanship.
Swift announced she had just dropped her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” coinciding with her appearance on Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, which was recorded shortly before his proposal.
While talking with Kelce and his brother Jason, the NFL player organized an elaborate setup in his backyard in Leawood, Kansas, to surprise Swift with a proposal. She expressed her amazement on “The Graham Norton Show,” saying Kelce “really crushed it in surprising” her.
“He went all out—10 out of 10,” she gushed, recalling how he built a garden-inspired setting in his backyard for the significant moment.
Two weeks after the proposal, Swift and Kelce announced their engagement via a joint Instagram post, captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” alongside five photos of the special day.
