Martial Arts Fighter Rescues Family from Intruder in Florida
A trained mixed martial artist defended his family when an intruder entered their home in Wilton Manors, Florida. The incident occurred early Saturday morning when the teenager nephew of Henny Rojas, the martial artist, woke him in a panic, reporting a stranger in the living room.
Rojas, who has been practicing MMA for around three years, immediately took action using his fighting skills. He engaged and subdued the intruder until law enforcement arrived. Rojas stated, “I don’t feel pain; I’m prepared. It’s not my first time. I relied on God and my hands.”
The intruder, identified as 31-year-old Austin Carasani, claimed he had been drinking at a nearby club and thought he was trying to reach a friend’s house when he mistakenly entered the home. Rojas and his family emphasized they had never seen Carasani before and did not recognize him.
Carasani was taken into custody shortly after the incident, charged with home invasion, and is currently held at the Broward County Jail with a $20,000 bond. He appeared before a judge hours after the arrest, showing visible bruising on his face from the takedown. During questioning, he maintained that he was attempting to find his friend “Paul’s house” when he entered the wrong home.
Rojas expressed satisfaction with how he handled the situation, emphasizing his desire to protect his loved ones. “Protect your family,” he advised. “There are many dangerous people who don’t believe in God and only seek harm.”
