Hawks Stolen from SoFi Stadium During Rams Game

Hawks Used at SoFi Stadium Are Stolen During LA Rams Game

Two trained hawks, Alice and Bubba, meant to deter other birds at SoFi Stadium, were stolen when a vehicle housing them was taken during a Los Angeles Rams game. The hawks were secured inside a Kawasaki Mule utility vehicle with the keys left in the ignition when a thief drove off on Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.

The birds, attached to the truck bed in green containers, were intended to work with a falconer to keep the stadium clean of birds during the event. Witnesses saw the suspect drive away in the vehicle, which was last seen in a nearby shopping area.

The falconer, Charles Cogger, expressed his distress over the loss, stating he is “struggling” and hopes to recover the hawks—Alice and Bubba—as soon as possible, ideally by Thursday to prevent them from going four days without food or water. He still has a third hawk named Hope.

Authorities provided a description of the suspect, a man dressed in a black jacket with a white shoulder stripe, black pants, and black shoes. The stolen vehicle and birds continue to be a concern for those involved in stadium security and animal care.
