Chicago Biker Sparks Chase Claiming Not a US Citizen
Chaotic Encounter Between Cyclist and Border Agents in Chicago
In downtown Chicago, an unidentified cyclist engaged in a tense confrontation with U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, shouting “I’m not a U.S. citizen!” before fleeing the scene, a video captures the dramatic incident.
The footage shows the cyclist approaching a group of federal immigration agents during their patrol last Sunday. Despite orders from authorities, he continued taunting them, repeatedly yelling, “Come on! I’m not a U.S. citizen!”
The situation escalated when the cyclist’s phone dropped from his pocket as he approached a nearby officer. Someone shouted, “You dropped your phone,” prompting the cyclist to turn back, retrieve his device, and then suddenly be chased by officers as they shouted, “Get him!”
The pursuing officers quickly moved to apprehend him, but the cyclist managed to escape on his bike, riding away from the scene. Witnesses noted that the man made verbal insults but did not make physical threats.
Authorities have not confirmed whether the individual was identified or detained after the incident. It remains unclear if any illegal migrants were arrested during the operation.
The federal crackdown coincided with protests and criticism from local politicians, including Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Illinois Governor JB Pritzker—both Democrats—who condemned the aggressive approach. The operation follows weeks of tension amid threats by former President Trump to deploy the National Guard to Chicago, and a recent escalation of federal activity in Portland, Oregon, where clashes occurred outside an ICE facility amidst Trump’s declaration of “full force” against what he called “domestic terrorists.”
