Texas Cop Delivers Uber Eats After Arresting Driver

Police Officer Delivers Uber Eats Order After Arrest

A Texas deputy unexpectedly completed an Uber Eats delivery after arresting the driver for using fake license plates. Harris County Constable deputies had earlier pulled over a vehicle because its plates did not match the car. During the investigation, they confirmed the driver, Ronaldo Carrillo, 47, had intentionally displayed a fictitious license plate and was taken into custody. Carrillo was charged with tampering with a government record and released on a $100 bond.

During the arrest, officers discovered Carrillo was mid-delivery for Uber Eats. Instead of abandoning the food, Deputy Chapa stepped in to ensure the customer received their meal. The department documented the event with photos showing the officer arriving at the customer’s home with the food, much to the customer’s surprise, who was pictured answering the door with an expression of disbelief.

Cops realized the suspect was in the middle of an Uber Eats delivery and personally delivered the order to the customer.

Constable Mark Herman praised the deputies for their effort: “Great work for enforcing the law and going above and beyond for our community!” The incident highlights law enforcement’s occasional role in ensuring residents don’t go without their meals when their delivery drivers are detained or arrested.

Similar acts of kindness have been reported before, such as in 2022 when a Florida officer delivered a customer’s DoorDash order after arresting the driver during a traffic stop, even posting photos of the gesture. These stories showcase police officers’ unexpected but commendable efforts to serve their community in moments of need.
