Official Assaulted at UN by Leftist
UN Incident: US Delegation Official Assaulted and Harassed
An employee supporting the U.S. delegation during the UN General Assembly was physically assaulted and verbally harassed by a protester inside the United Nations headquarters. The incident occurred as the official was walking in a hallway when a woman began yelling at her, shining a bright light in her face, and recording the encounter.
The woman reportedly called the official a “fascist” and a “Nazi,” following her closely and escalating her hostile behavior. The official sought refuge in a women’s restroom to escape, where the harasser continued to shout and push to gain entry into the stall. During this time, the attacker also pushed a camera over the stall door to continue filming her victim.
After about ten minutes of ordeal, the official managed to leave the bathroom, only to be followed into the hallway by the assailant, who persisted in yelling and shining the light in her face. The attacker was eventually detained by law enforcement outside the UN premises.
Authorities have charged the woman with assault, harassment, attempted assault, and weapons possession. She was released later in the evening, with a court appearance scheduled for November 13. The incident is under investigation, with the Secret Service and NYPD examining how she gained entry into a secure venue.
Supporters and officials condemned the assault, emphasizing that it reveals gaps in UN security. A U.S. spokesperson criticized the UN’s failure to ensure safety and called for urgent reforms to prevent such incidents in the future. The UN itself has acknowledged that security operations need immediate review to uphold the safety of diplomatic personnel on its premises.
