Ryan Reynolds Hurls Profanity at Blake Lively During Bill Murray Call
Ryan Reynolds’ Bold Attempt to Reach Bill Murray for a Documentary
Actor Ryan Reynolds explained how he once interrupted his wife, Blake Lively, to urgently respond to a call from legendary actor Bill Murray. Reynolds shared that he had left over 40 messages trying to contact Murray to participate in his documentary about John Candy.
Reynolds finally got Murray’s phone number through a mutual connection and left a voicemail expressing his eagerness to discuss Candy’s life. “I’ll come to you. I’ll do whatever it takes,” he insisted, hoping to persuade the star to participate.
Later, while attending a formal event with Lively, Reynolds received a call from Murray himself. He described the moment: “It said Bill Murray, and I went, ‘Bill Murray!’” Lively urged them to head inside, but Reynolds responded with a colorful expletive.
Reynolds continued to pursue Murray, leaving another 40 messages in his desperation to finish the project. Eventually, after sending a video message to Murray, the actor agreed to participate. Reynolds said Murray then asked, “What do you need from me for JC?” referring to John Candy.
Reynolds revealed that his strategic move of creating a video message, with his children distracting him, ultimately secured Murray’s involvement. The actor joked that he told his son, “If you say no to a child like that, I don’t know what kind of monster you are,” which led Murray to return his call quickly.
Reynolds joked about his method, saying he had his children record the request to make it more effective, leading to Murray calling him back almost immediately. The actor emphasized his persistence paid off, and Murray eventually said, “I’ll get back to you about JC.”
While Lively’s representative declined to comment on the encounter, Reynolds and Lively’s relationship remains a blend of public playful teasing and genuine partnership. The couple has four children and often shares moments of their life through social media and public appearances.
