Missing Teen Found Deceased in a Tesla

Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl whose severely decomposed body was discovered in a Tesla registered to singer-songwriter D4vd, was captured on surveillance footage running away from her home last year. The footage, recorded at a local liquor store in Lake Elsinore, California, shows Celeste in a black hoodie and white pants fleeing the scene around 7 a.m. on March 19, 2024. She is seen walking briskly and then jogging out of view.

Celeste frequently ran away from home, at least three times in the past year, due to what authorities described as a troubled family environment. The last contact with her was in July, and she was previously found by police in Hollywood in January 2024, after which she returned to her family. Despite her multiple escapes, her disappearance on March 19 marked at least her second run from home.

Her body was found on September 8 in the trunk of a Tesla linked to 20-year-old musician D4vd. Law enforcement indicated her remains were in such a state of decomposition that it suggested she had been in the vehicle for a considerable period, though the exact cause of death remains unknown.

Authorities conducted a search warrant at a Hollywood Hills residence where the musician D4vd had been staying, seizing electronics and computers. He has cooperated with investigators, canceled upcoming tour dates, and left his rental property shortly after the search. Law enforcement officials have not named him as a suspect or person of interest, and investigations continue to determine how Rivas died and how her body ended up in the vehicle.

Rivas’ friends and online associates speculated that she may have developed a relationship with D4vd via social media earlier in 2024. Screenshots circulating on Discord appeared to suggest connections between the teenager and the artist, though no formal allegations have been made.

Her remains have been released to her family, who held a memorial service in Lake Elsinore to honor her.
