Curtis Sliwa Says He’s Offered Bribes to Quit NYC Mayoral Race

Sliwa Denies Being Bribed to Drop Out of NYC Mayoral Race

GOP candidate Curtis Sliwa asserted that wealthy donors have been attempting to “bribe” him to withdraw from the race for New York City mayor, but he made it clear he won’t be swayed. During a recent press conference, he emphasized, “There’s no price that can get me out of this race, no bribe.” He also warned that any offers made on behalf of former Governor Andrew Cuomo or others will be documented and reported to authorities.

Sliwa revealed that he has been approached about lucrative security positions, both internationally and within the tristate area, with discussions involving “millions of dollars.” Despite these offers, he stated he has promptly rejected each one. “They said I could use the money to fund my Guardian Angels or my wife’s animal programs, or become a security director earning millions annually — but I refused because it would be unethical,” he explained.

Andrew Cuomo
Andrew Cuomo has denied Sliwa’s claims.

Sliwa mentioned receiving seven phone calls recently urging him to drop out for a high-profile job. He dismissed these as attempts at bribery, reaffirming, “I think you should stop calling.” Meanwhile, Cuomo’s campaign quickly dismissed Sliwa’s allegations, branding him a “liar” and “fraudster,” with a spokesperson accusing him of trying to involve the campaign in a lawsuit against WABC radio.

Former Governor Cuomo, in a comments on Bloomberg, called Sliwa’s accusations “malarkey,” criticizing him for not providing specific names and labeling him a “known con-man.”

NYC Mayor Eric Adams also refuted Sliwa’s claims, stating he has received no offers to exit the race and calling Sliwa a liar. There were reports earlier this month of discussions about a possible job for Adams in the Trump administration if he dropped out, but insiders suggest those talks lost momentum after Sliwa indicated he would remain in the race.

Although Adams has not officially ended his campaign, he hasn’t held a campaign event in about a week.
