Tekashi 6ix9ine Admits to Hitting Man Who Called Him Snitch and Violated Probation
Tekashi 6ix9ine Admits to Assault and Probation Violation
Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine has acknowledged that he assaulted a man who mocked him for cooperating with federal authorities against his former gang. The incident occurred in a Florida gym on August 8, when Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, and a friend punched the individual.
During a court appearance, Tekashi admitted that the assault was wrong and that it violated the terms of his probation. Prosecutor Jonathan Rebold stated that the victim taunted Tekashi for informing on the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods as part of a 2019 plea deal in a racketeering case.
Tekashi’s lawyer confirmed his remorse, telling the judge, “Me and another individual hit a person, and it was wrong.” The hearing lasted approximately 45 minutes, during which Hernandez appeared subdued, often keeping his head down.
The assault was notably accompanied by a group shouting “shut the f–k up,” presumably warning Tekashi due to his cooperation against gang members, which earned him a lenient two-year prison sentence earlier. His history includes multiple probation violations, including a guilty plea earlier this summer for stash drugs and weapons at his Florida residence.
The court warned Hernandez that any future violations could result in up to five years in prison. He is scheduled for sentencing on November 4, and earlier in the year, he served 45 days for probation breaches involving drug tests and travel restrictions.
Following his 2019 cooperation, Tekashi was sentenced to two years but was released early in April 2020 due to health concerns amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
