Coldplay Kiss-Cam Sparks Divorce: Kristin Cabot’s Husband Breaks Silence
Husband Speaks Out on Divorce Following Viral Scandal
The estranged husband of Kristin Cabot, an HR executive and astronomer, has broken his silence nearly two months after his wife gained widespread attention for a public display of affection with her boss during a Coldplay concert. Andrew Cabot, 61, stated through a spokesman that he and Kristin had been living separately for several weeks before the incident, which became public shortly afterward.
Although they filed for divorce nearly a month later, the couple’s separation was already in progress prior to the viral moment. Andrew, CEO of the Privateer Rum distillery, expressed hope that the public disclosure of their divorce would bring closure and allow for privacy moving forward. He also indicated that no further comments would be made about the situation.
Kristin filed divorce papers on August 13, after a viral kiss-cam moment at a Boston concert on July 16, where she was caught cuddling her boss, Andy Byron. At the time, Andrew was on a work trip in Japan and was unaware of his wife’s public display with Byron, who has since resigned from his CEO position at Astronomer.
Kristin’s previous marriage to Kenneth Thornby ended in divorce in 2022, with whom she shares a child. The incident at the concert, where Kristin and Byron were caught on camera during a band’s performance, drew mixed reactions from fans and fellow celebrities, including Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin, who initially commented on the moment as a sweet gesture before expressing confusion.
Since then, both Kristin and Byron have resigned from their roles at Astronomer amid intense public scrutiny. Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, also changed her social media profile following the scandal.
Kristin’s former husband, Julia Cabot, shared that Andrew had told her he and Kristin had already been separated before the incident, emphasizing ongoing personal struggles within the family.
