Nancy Sliwa Promotes Curtis for NYC Mayor in $350K TV Ad
Sliwa Launches First Campaign TV Ad Focusing on Women’s Safety
In his initial campaign advertisement for mayor, Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa features a 30-second spot highlighted by his wife, Nancy, who emphasizes the importance of protecting women from violence. The ad, part of a $350,000 campaign expenditure, notably includes only Nancy speaking, underscoring issues of safety and crime.
In the ad, Nancy Sliwa, a seasoned victims’ rights attorney, states, “They say New York City is safe. Women know better,” highlighting rising reported rapes and domestic violence cases that push women and children into shelters. She affirms their commitment to fighting for women’s safety: “Curtis and I have always fought for women and will continue advocating for them because no one should have to choose between supporting their family and protecting their life.”
The campaign also shows footage of the couple walking the streets, with Curtis Sliwa, founder of the Guardian Angels, in his signature red beret. Sliwa has accumulated $4 million in campaign funds, signaling a significant role in the race against Democratic candidate Zohran Mamdani, and independent mayoral candidates including Mayor Eric Adams and ex-Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Sliwa asserts his commitment to making women’s safety a top priority, proposing a “women-first” safety plan that calls for hiring 7,000 additional police officers and increasing visible patrols in the NYPD Transit Bureau. “Women deserve a city where they feel safe on their way home from work, not one where danger waits at every station,” he said.
Despite the race having multiple candidates, Sliwa’s extensive campaign spending indicates he aims to be a key factor in the election outcome. He remains determined to secure victory and improve safety conditions for all residents.
