British Superbike Rider in Critical Condition After Devastating Crash
A prominent British superbike rider has been hospitalized and placed into an induced coma following a severe crash during a race.
Callum Grigor, a Scottish rider, was involved in a collision at the final corner of the Donington Park circuit during Saturday’s Pirelli National Superstock Championship race. The incident happened at Goddards Corner, where Grigor made contact with fellow competitor Nathan Harrison.
Both riders were quickly attended to by medical teams at the scene. Grigor sustained serious injuries and required immediate emergency treatment, including being put into a coma. Harrison was also injured, suffering an isolated limb injury, and received initial hospital care.
The race was immediately halted following the crash, which was significant enough to trigger a red flag. Both riders were transferred to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham for further assessment and specialized care.
