Injury Setback for Arsenal as William Saliba to Miss Several Weeks

Arsenal faces a significant challenge after learning the expected duration of defender William Saliba’s absence due to injury. Saliba was substituted early during the loss to Liverpool last weekend after suffering an ankle injury.

According to reports, Saliba is now expected to be sidelined for three to four weeks. This injury rules him out of upcoming matches, including Premier League fixtures against Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, and Newcastle, as well as the Champions League opener away to Athletic Bilbao.

The injury also means Saliba will miss the current France squad’s upcoming international matches. His absence will pose a setback for Arsenal, especially with key fixtures approaching.

In his place, 21-year-old Cristhian Mosquera, who joined from Valencia, was impressive when he replaced Saliba against Liverpool. This situation may provide Mosquera with more opportunities to show his potential in the coming weeks.

Arsenal is also dealing with several other injuries early in the season. Star winger Bukayo Saka is sidelined with a hamstring injury, while Kai Havertz is out with a knee problem. Additionally, defenders Ben White and Christian Norgaard are injured. Forward Gabriel Jesus is nearing a return from an ACL injury sustained in January but was not included in the Champions League squad.
