SpaceX Falcon 9 Launch Sends 28 Starlink Satellites into Orbit from Florida

SpaceX Launches 28 New Starlink Satellites

SpaceX continued expanding its global internet network with the deployment of 28 additional Starlink satellites on September 5th. The satellites were launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket from Kennedy Space Center’s Launch Complex 39A in Florida.

The rocket’s first stage, which had previously flown 27 times, successfully returned to the drone ship “Just Read the Instructions” for a vertical landing, marking SpaceX’s 463rd reuse of a Falcon 9 first stage and its 499th successful recovery. This mission was the 111th Falcon 9 launch in 2025, out of a total of 529 since 2010. The Starlink group launched during this mission, designated Group 10-57, now consists of over 8,370 active satellites working to provide global internet coverage.

The launch involved a swift ascent, with the initial phase completed in less than nine minutes, followed by a coast phase of approximately 45 minutes before satellite deployment. The satellites were deployed from the Falcon 9’s second stage about an hour and four minutes after liftoff, continuing SpaceX’s mission to enhance global internet connectivity through its Starlink constellation.
