Brothers Shot in Brooklyn Shootout, One Killed

Two brothers were involved in a shooting in Brooklyn, resulting in one fatality and the other injured. Authorities have not apprehended the suspect yet.

Police responded to reports of an assault at the corner of Sutter and Euclid Avenues in East New York around 2:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered the brothers with gunshot wounds.

One brother, Darius Coles, 20, was shot in the chest and was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital. His twin brother sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and a grazing injury to the head. He was also taken to the hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Investigators recovered multiple shell casings and a box cutter from the scene. The suspect, described as a man wearing a red tracksuit, white shoes, and a white shirt, fled east on foot along Sutter Avenue. Authorities have not yet made any arrests.
