King Charles Shares Rare Health Update During Patient Visit
King Charles III Reveals His Ongoing Battle with Cancer
King Charles III, 76, provided a rare update on his health during a visit to Midland Metropolitan University Hospital, expressing that he is managing his condition relatively well.
While speaking to a patient who mentioned feeling worn out, Charles acknowledged that aging can be challenging, joking, “The bits don’t work so well when you get past 70.” He also confirmed that his own health is stable, stating, “I’m not doing too bad.” The king reflected on the importance of early detection, noting, “Half the problem is detecting it in time,” and expressed optimism about advances in medical treatments, adding, “There’s always hope down the road.”
Charles publicly disclosed his cancer diagnosis in February 2024 after a procedure for a benign prostate enlargement uncovered a cancerous condition. Buckingham Palace did not specify the type of cancer. He previously described feeling “wholly positive” about his health journey, and in July, he mentioned he had been “doing much better.”
Earlier this year, Charles was briefly hospitalized due to “temporary side effects” from treatment but returned to royal duties in April. His daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, has also made headlines for her resilience while battling cancer, having completed chemotherapy in September 2024, and continuing to make public appearances.
Additional insights into royal health include Sarah Ferguson, ex-wife of Prince Andrew, who announced her skin cancer diagnosis in early 2024, six months after undergoing a double mastectomy. Ferguson has expressed admiration for Middleton’s strength in facing her health challenges.
