Prince Harry’s Rare ‘Golden Ticket’ Visa Could Let Him Live in the U.S. for Life
Prince Harry Likely Holds a Rare US Diplomatic Visa
Newly released records suggest that Prince Harry may possess a unique diplomatic visa, potentially granting him indefinite residence in the United States. The documents, released by the Department of Homeland Security, pertain to his ongoing immigration case and indicate that he could have an A-1 Head of State visa, typically reserved for foreign royals and heads of state.
This specific visa allows for unrestricted entry and exit and involves fewer security checks. Immigration experts explain that such visas are issued with little oversight from the Department of Homeland Security, often by the State Department, and are renewed every five years. Harry, who relocated to the US in 2020, could hold multiple such applications, which would enable him to stay indefinitely under the “duration of status.”
Harry has openly discussed past drug use in his memoir, admitting to experimenting with cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms during his youth. Despite initial reports suggesting his drug history might be relevant, officials decided it would violate his privacy to release detailed records. An earlier lawsuit argued that Harry might have provided false information on his visa application, as drug use details should have been disclosed if included in his application forms.
If he admitted to drug use during the visa process, such information would be recorded and accessible to authorities. However, if he did not disclose such details, the full records would remain with the State Department rather than the DHS files.
Since stepping away from royal duties and renouncing his British residency in April 2023, Harry has expressed intentions to remain in the US permanently. He resides in Montecito, California, with Meghan Markle and their children.
While the exact nature of his visa remains undisclosed, sources suggest he answered truthfully on his application, and officials have publicly stated there are no plans to deport him. The controversy continues to spark interest, highlighting Harry’s unique immigration status in the US.
