Jay Cutler Faces DUI Lawsuit After Jail Time for Crash
Former NFL Star Jay Cutler Faces Lawsuit Following DUI Incident
The individual involved in the collision with Jay Cutler during his recent DUI arrest has filed a lawsuit seeking damages. Perry Lee, the driver, alleges that injuries sustained from the crash in Franklin, Tennessee, on October 17, 2024, have caused him ongoing physical pain, mental anguish, and financial loss, including lost wages and medical expenses.
Lee’s legal representatives, from Pierce and Morgan & Morgan, state that their client is a veteran who was harmed due to the alleged negligence of Cutler. The lawsuit further claims that Cutler was intoxicated at the time of the accident, failing to exercise reasonable care while operating his vehicle.
Cutler, the former quarterback for the Chicago Bears, was previously sentenced to four days in jail after pleading guilty to misdemeanor DUI following a plea deal. The case included charges of gun possession, which were dismissed after he forfeited the weapon, along with fines and probation. His driving privileges were revoked, and he was ordered to undergo regular drug testing.
During the incident, Cutler allegedly rear-ended another vehicle and tried to leave the scene before law enforcement arrived. Police reported he appeared intoxicated and found two firearms, including a loaded pistol, in his vehicle. Cutler has not publicly commented on the arrest. His ex-wife, Kristin Cavallari, who shares three children with him, briefly addressed his detention on her podcast, wishing him well and hoping he seeks help.
