Elon Musk’s Trans Daughter Vivian Wilson: Not Rich, Living with 3 Roommates

Vivian Wilson, Elon Musk’s Estranged Daughter, Opens Up About Her Finances and Life

Vivian Wilson, the daughter of billionaire Elon Musk, has publicly shared that she is financially limited, choosing to live with three roommates to keep expenses down. The 21-year-old aspiring model explained that she doesn’t have access to significant wealth despite her father’s fortune estimated at over $413 billion.

“People assume I have a lot of money, but I don’t have hundreds of thousands of dollars readily available,” she told a magazine. She acknowledged that her mother is wealthy, but emphasized the vast disparity in their financial situations. She also shared that she is able to afford basic needs like food, shelter, and some discretionary spending, which she considers fortunate compared to many her age.

Wilson, the eldest of Musk’s 14 children, publicly distanced herself from her father in 2022 after changing her name and gender. Since then, she has been vocal on social media, criticizing Musk and claiming he was unaccepting of her gender identity—calling him a “pathetic man-child” and alleging he was misled about her transition at age 16. Musk has previously made controversial statements about her, saying she was “killed by the woke mind virus” and blaming societal influences for her transition.

Despite the challenging relationship, Vivian explores her own path, including attending college in Canada and Japan before dropping out, citing artificial intelligence as a factor that diminished her motivation. She also addressed her privileged upbringing, having attended a private high school with students connected to celebrities such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.

Recently, Vivian has gained some fame of her own; she secured a Teen Vogue cover and an agent, though she admits she’s not entirely comfortable with her newfound status. She reflected on her desire for normalcy and her mixed feelings about fame, acknowledging that while she enjoys the money it brings, she sometimes misses the anonymity of her past life.
