‘RHOP’ Star Karen Huger Released Early After 6 Months for DUI

Karen Huger Has Been Released from Prison

The “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Karen Huger has completed her six-month sentence and is now a free woman.

Huger was convicted of a DUI in December 2024 after crashing her Maserati at high speed earlier that year. Body camera footage from her arrest was released, showing her visibly intoxicated and struggling to speak, even admitting to being “drunk” after the incident. During an interview in March, Huger reflected on the footage, saying she initially refused to watch it but ultimately didn’t recognize herself and believed she had blacked out before the crash.

At one point in the footage, she jokingly referred to herself as Thomas Jefferson’s “concubine” during questioning. The police reports confirmed she was found guilty of DUI following her wreck, and she was sentenced to a two-year prison term, with one year suspended, leading to her immediate detention.

Following her sentencing, her co-star Gizelle Bryant expressed shock, but by April, Bryant noted that Huger was thriving in prison and was actively managing her reputation behind bars.

Throughout her life, Karen has accumulated four driving violations since 2006. Bryant added that the staff in her current facility love her and that Huger is effectively “running that thing,” which has reassured her about Karen’s safety during incarceration.
