NYC Woman Threatening Trump Quietly Released by Judge

Woman Threatening President Trump Released from Custody

A woman from New York City, who was detained for making disturbing social media threats against President Trump, was quietly released by a federal judge last week. The judge, appointed during the Obama administration, ordered her to be monitored electronically and to see a psychiatrist upon returning home.

The woman, 50-year-old Nathalie Rose Jones, had posted messages on Facebook expressing intent to harm Trump, including statements about carrying out violent acts. Her social media activity also tagged federal agencies such as the FBI, ICE, and Homeland Security, raising concerns among authorities.

Jones’s arrest followed her threatening posts starting August 2, and she told Secret Service agents during an interview that she would kill Trump if given the opportunity, using a bladed weapon. Despite her history of mental health issues, including schizophrenia, friends indicated she had never previously exhibited violent behavior.

In her Facebook posts, she called for Trump to be arrested and removed as a terrorist, claiming he would be taken from the White House on August 16. Court documents reveal officials had been aware of her threatening posts for days prior to her release.

Judge Boasberg’s decision to release her on bail came amid concerns over her mental health, with friends describing her as having a mental illness but no history of violence. She is currently awaiting trial on felony charges related to her threats against the president.
