Szczerek and his wife Anna live there with their two sons, aged 10 and 12. The couple also owns Calisia Tennis Pro, a tennis club approximately 40 miles away, and frequently invites professional players to their court. Szczerek has a notable presence in Poland’s tennis scene, supporting local tournaments and young talent.

Despite his wealth, Szczerek faced widespread criticism after an incident at the US Open, where he was seen grabbing a signed hat from a young fan during a match involving Polish player Kamil Majchrzak. Szczerek later apologized, claiming he misunderstood the situation, believing the player was passing his hat to his children. He acknowledged that his actions hurt the boy and disappointed fans.

Szczerek described his ongoing passion for tennis, which he often plays with his wife, and noted his involvement in helping young athletes. However, the tennis star involved, Majchrzak, expressed understanding, suggesting the incident was a heat-of-the-moment mistake.
