Manchester City Defender Ruben Dias Opens Up About His Relationship with Maya Jama

Manchester City footballer Ruben Dias has spoken publicly for the first time about his romantic relationship with television presenter Maya Jama. The couple, believed to have been dating for several months, confirmed their relationship in June when Jama shared a post on Instagram making it official.

Despite increased public attention, Dias emphasized that they are both able to lead normal lives. When asked about concerns over publicity, he replied, “No, that’s the last thing I think about. We are aware of it, but we focus on everything else and handle it smartly.”

During the off-season, the couple was seen enjoying glamorous trips, notably a boat ride on the Italian island of Capri, where they shared kisses and relaxed onboard. Reports suggest Jama is considering relocating to Manchester to be closer to Dias.

Jama, originally from Bristol and currently residing in London, has been traveling frequently to stay at Dias’ £2.5 million apartment in Manchester. She has also been spotted at matches supporting Dias and sharing snippets of her life in the city with her followers.

The pair were photographed shopping together at Manchester’s Arndale Centre, highlighting a growing bond amidst their busy schedules. Dias shared that he refuses to let fame interfere with simple pleasures, expressing that he enjoys going to parks, attending concerts, and dining out normally. He notes that most people show him respect and are understanding, even when he is recognized while out.

While Dias mentions that Jama might prefer less attention, he maintains they strive for a normal relationship. “We try to be as normal as possible,” he said, emphasizing their mutual focus on maintaining a balanced and genuine connection.

Since joining City from Benfica in 2020, Dias has made over 220 appearances and achieved numerous titles, including four Premier League titles and a Champions League victory.
