Caitlyn Jenner Reflects on the Loss of Sophia Hutchins

Caitlyn Jenner has publicly spoken about the challenging experience of mourning her close friend and former manager, Sophia Hutchins, who tragically died in an ATV accident in July at age 29.

In a recent interview, Jenner described Hutchins’ passing as a difficult and emotionally taxing event. She shared that dealing with loss has been a long journey, especially amid her own grief over other recent events.

“It’s so hard,” Jenner admitted, reflecting on her ongoing grieving process, including a recent shooting incident in Minneapolis that she also discussed. “When this happened, it really hit me hard because I am also coping with my grief.”

Hutchins was involved in the ATV crash near Jenner’s Malibu home on July 2, when she collided with a moving car’s bumper and fell down a 350-foot ravine. Rescue teams confirmed her death on the scene. The incident drew significant attention, as Hutchins had been a prominent figure in Jenner’s life, having lived with her since 2017 and regarded as her close confidante and manager.

Jenner, who had previously maintained that their relationship was strictly platonic and denied romantic involvement, supported Hutchins’ family following the tragedy by opening her home to them. Hutchins had also been a frequent presence in Jenner’s life, including shared appearances at events from 2018 and 2019.

Since Hutchins’ death, Jenner has remained silent publicly regarding her loss, although she acknowledged in an earlier statement that she had been going through a tough time. Hutchins’ death marked a devastating chapter for all involved, highlighting the profound bond they shared over the years.
