Supporter Defends President Biden’s Mental Fitness

Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Texas expressed confidence in President Joe Biden’s mental sharpness during a recent interview, dismissing concerns about his cognitive health raised by recent disclosures and books. She stated she has never observed any signs that would cast doubt on his mental capacity.

“Even if some claim — which I personally reject — that Joe Biden is mentally unfit, his clarity surpasses that of the current leadership by a significant margin,” Crockett said on a podcast hosted by Katie Couric. She emphasized her personal experience, noting Biden appeared to be functioning well during her interactions.

Crockett also contrasted Biden with former President Donald Trump, asserting that she would prefer Biden “any given day,” citing Biden’s genuine heart and the good judgment of those around him, regardless of any perceived physical or mental decline.

During last year’s debates, Biden’s performance drew criticism over perceived cognitive struggles, leading to questions about his fitness for office. These concerns gained renewed attention following revelations in a new book, Original Sin, and ongoing investigations into his mental acuity and use of autopen technology.

Crockett defended her stance by sharing that her personal access to President Biden as a member of Congress allows her to observe his behavior directly. “The average person hasn’t had the same level of access,” she remarked, adding she never saw any signs of decline and likened Biden’s demeanor to that of a loving grandfather.
