First Victim in Minneapolis School Shooting Out of Surgery
Teenager Among Those Injured in Church Shooting
A 13-year-old boy is one of the 17 individuals injured in a violent shooting at a church during a back-to-school Mass in Minneapolis. The gunfire was carried out by Robin Westman, who identified as a transgender woman, and resulted in two fatalities: an 8-year-old and a 10-year-old.
According to his mother, Danielle, Endre Gunter was shot in the stomach while praying with classmates. He has undergone surgery and is currently in recovery. She expressed gratitude toward a police officer who responded swiftly to the scene, aided her son, and prayed with him afterward.
Endre’s mother shared that an officer provided aid, hugged him, reassured him, and prayed with him before he was taken to the hospital. She added that their family is now focused on helping Endre rebuild his life, regain trust, and restore confidence after the trauma.
Authorities reported that the assault left 17 injured, including 14 children aged 6 to 15 and three elderly parishioners in their 80s. All victims are expected to survive. Westman was found dead with a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene.
